The Garden of Unearthly Delights, Umbrella Revolution, until March 14 (weekends only)
Review by Honey B
Big Top Bonanza is the perfect mix of circus, comedy and theatre that will have the whole family laughing on an enjoyable day out.Hosted by the hilarious Asher Treleaven he kept the audience amused between acts, while performing a few of his own routines and circus skills – he dazzled with the diablo. The audience was tightly packed into the Umbrella Revolution and when Hannah Cryle took to the German Wheel some patrons were right in her path. The children didn’t seem to mind the closeness of the wheel, but the adults were leaning back with protective hands hoovering in front of their youngsters. Cryle showed much talent in controlling the wheel in such a restricted space.Other acts included some clowning, an aerialist and the duo Children Are Stinky had the audience bopping along to a snappy, physical routine. The line-up for this piece changes and is a showcase of some of the best performers the Garden of Unearthly Delights has to offer.Be warned, there’s plenty of audience participation. The children loved to get on-stage but some of the dads were less enthusiastic!A great family show with plenty of oohs, aaghs and laughs.
