Livvy and Pete: The Songs of Olivia Newton John and Peter Allen

There was no denying that the opening night audience was hopelessly devoted to Michael Griffiths and Amelia Ryan as they belted out the tunes of ONJ and Peter Allen. Piano-man Griffiths, looking resplendent in a bright floral shirt, kicked of the show with Not The Boy Next Door and he was soon joined on-stage by Ryan to compete the song as a duet. The Adelaide pair work so well together because both have an easy storytelling style and a natural banter. Of course, the audience was encouraged to sing along and they certainly did. Ryan, who loved ONJ growing up, had a ball dashing backstage for many a costume change. The newly engaged Ryan looked gorgeous in all including her tight Grease-inspired Livvy ensemble and her workout Physical costume. There were so many highlights during this one hour show it’s such a shame to list but a few, but some of the nights hits included a gorgeous, heartfelt  I Honestly Love You duet, Allen’s Tenterfield Saddler and Arthur’s Theme. Ryan wowed with a comedic version of Hopelessly Devoted to You and she went all out for Xanadu. Don’t miss this inspiring and fun cabaret show.
